Eastern Civil War

After gathering for several years and growing in numbers, the Songkram come to the conclusion that there is only one way to save their people; they must overthrow the Ganpoumi Fi and assume control over the Eastern Provinces. However, they lacked the manpower to face the Ganpoumi Fi head on in direct conflict, so they needed an underhanded way to even the odds.

That's when a mysterious hooded seer named Al'Khasm appeared to the Songkram. He offered to aid the Songkram by helping to split up the Ganpoumi Fi's forces. In return, he said if his plan worked, he would like an adviser's position in the new Songkram government once victory over the Ganpoumi Fi was achieved. The Songkram agreed, and the stranger went to work. By the end of the week, a surge of Imps from the Demon Wars reawakened and rampaged out of caves across the Eastern Provinces. While messengers were sent out to the Righteous Order for assistance, the Ganpoumi Fi had to immediately mobilize their forces to protect the people from the threat.

While the Ganpoumi Fi's forces were spread out, the Songkram marched on the capital. With the Ganpoumi Fi's forces occupied, the Songkram were able to overcome the guards there and take the city. The Songkram presented the soldiers there the option to join them, or be executed. The council members were not given a choice. Those who did not flee were executed in the morning of the next day, publicly.

The surviving members of the Ganpoumi Fi council regrouped and attempted to consolidate their forces, but many had already been either converted or killed by the Songkram. After three years of small but constant, bloody skirmishes, the Ganpoumi Fi were surrounded in the orthern part of the Eastern Provinces by Songkram forces and held a desperate last stand against them. The Ganpoumi Fi were crushed and shown no mercy, effectively ending their rule.

A very small fragment of the Ganpoumi Fi were able to escape to the South, establishing a secret place near Fi Lo Hok to preserve their ways. With them, the Sword of the Covenant remained, a tiny beacon of light in this dark era for the Ganpoumi Fi.
